2016 VDF 'Les Petits Cailloux'

Domaine des Quatre Pierres

Regular price $51 750ml Sale

A blend of Chenin, Petit Manseng and Viognier. The wine sees both ferments taking place in old barrels, with no stirring of the lees and élevage for 17 months. 15mg/L SO2 at bottling.

This wine is very unique. The nose is so fresh and so clean! Lemon, blossoms, that faint whiff of kiwifruit skin – 16 feels more refined than the 14. What a beautiful texture - it's there, but at the same time rather restrained. Slightly saline too, yum! Fresh, sweet fruit – honeydew, lemons, and medium-high acidity, with a very long finish. Nice tension and limestone minerality. And that kiwi fruit note – so unique. Overall there is a very harmonious balance. The fruit profile on impact is so good, what a wine! One of the freshest whites from the Languedoc for sure. Perfect with seafood, white meats, and vegetable dishes.
