100% Chardonnay from their family vineyards in Savigny-Lès-Beaune. Vines are 25 years old, grown on chalk and clay. Direct press into tank, then both fermentations and élevage completed in old barrels. *10mg/L SO2
Ah, that nose. Clean burgundy… lemon curd, almonds, croissant, chalky minerality. The texture is not thick, but it lacquers the mouth and carries for quite a bit before the acidity kicks in, and then finishes quite mineral. Seamless. Not overly complex, but delicious and outstanding value. Some nice lemon and yellow apple notes on the palate. The wine really opens up after some time and becomes more mineral. Quite juicy and palate staining – better when it’s not so cold. A food wine, or great with cheese! And, incredible value! Yum!
