2018 AOC Arbois 'La Cabane'

Domaine de la Touraize

Regular price $61 750ml Sale

Ploussard from lieu-dits La Touraize and Curoulet. The vines are 20-40 years old and grow on grey marl. The grapes are de-stemmed carefully by hand, and then undergo carbonic maceration in tank. Aged in tank for 3 months, and then aged in old demi-muids for the final 3 months.

Very light colour, the lightest so far to date. And more iridescent, not dark. Notes are delicate and light – it’s like he’s seen what the lighter styles are that have captured everyone’s hearts, and is heading in that direction. Very perfumed - a myriad of roses and spices. Already so complex for a young wine. Blood orange, strawberries and notes of negroni. Hints of baking spice and bacon fat, but subtle – they’re both signature of Touraize. Red cherries. On the palate it is silky smooth and long. Very unique, definitely the best yet. Very fresh and lifted. Residual fine tannins, clove and spice. Pretty and detailed in such an elegant way. Fresh and bright and the perfect chilled red for Spring and Summer.
