2019 AOP Chablis 'Broc de Biques'

Regular price $88 750ml Sale

Purchased grapes from a certified organic grower. The vines are over 60 years old, and grow on high content limestone terroir on the left bank of the Serein, facing north west - 2 km southwest of Chablis, opposite the 1er Cru sites of Forêts and Montmains. The climat is called 'Broc de Biques'. Vinified and aged in old barrels for one year, without racking or stirring. 20mg/L SO2 before bottling.

Lighter in colour, also very bright. Stones on the nose. Beautiful restraint here - more lifted and delicate than the other whites. Very clean and clear with no reduction. Not so fruity, just delicate white petals, stones and clear air. On the palate you taste white peach. Very fresh and lifted. Huge acidity. This has less texture than the 2018, and way more drive. The acidity is intense but well integrated. The acidity pulls you with it, you’re playing catch up. Stones, limestone, flicks of butter, white fruits and flowers. Very nice tension. Still quite textural. Oyster shell is there. It’s linear, but still has decent texture, and very bright fruit. So juicy, bright. and invigorating! A stellar expression.
