Regular price $60 750ml Sale

100% Grolleau from a 0.33ha parcel called ‘Case Neuve’, grown on clay, blue schist and quartz. The vines were planted in 1960. Semi carbonic maceration for 4 weeks without intervention. Aged in stainless steel for 11 months. 10mg/L SO2 before bottling.

Love that purple Grolleau colour. On the nose this is really expressive. Grapey, slightly herbaceous and earthy. Very clean and lifted and vibrant. Soil, blueberry and boysenberry. Then you sense the imprint of the schist. To taste it is juicy with super fine tannins. Bright in the mouth, light-medium in weight, and has great length. A well made wine, rather than glou glou. Lifted and light with beautiful balance. Lots of flavour in the mid-palate. Fine, fine tannins, and an inkling of schisty tension on the finish. Nice and flavourful – not complex, but very delicious. The energy seems to build with more time in the glass. Very fresh, clean and vibrant, with medium plus acidity. Blackberry fruit and hints of bracken come into play as it sees air. One of the best examples of Grolleau I've ever tasted - very happy to have this in the country for the first time! Serve slightly chilled.
