Edouard purchased these grapes from a friend, but harvested them all himself. This is a blend of Grenache, Carignan, Merlot and Cinsault. The vines were in their third year of conversion to organic farming, and from two sites. Aragon - which has clay and limestone soils. And Caunes-Minervois - which is made up of limestone with stony terraces, deposited by the region's rivers during the great river floods of the Quaternary era. Whole bunch carbonic maceration for 4-7 days, then pressed and aged in tank for 5 months. 20ppm SO2 at bottling.

Medium red in colour. The perfume on this is so lifted and beautiful. An explosion of boysenberries and violets with some herbaceous notes of bay in the background. Very bright and enticing. Supple to drink, so effortless. Flavourful and fragrant in the mouth. Wild berries, red apples, lots of sweet crunchy fruit. Fine tannins and a little minerality on the finish. Soft, easy, and really, really good for the price. A bit lighter on the palate than the 2019. More elegant too.
