Note that the labels were printed without Champs-Pimont in error. Grapes bought from a friend, and only enough to produce 3 barrels of wine. The vineyard is made up of clay and limestone, and is certified organic. It sits mid-way up hill, overlooking the city to the west. Whole bunch maceration for 10-15 days, pressed and then aged for one year in old barrels. And only 36 bottles came to Australia!

So fragrant. Such pure lifted fruits. Black cherries, carob, subtle baking spices, very uplifting aromas. You could keep smelling this and pulling it apart for ages, but let’s drink… Ample mid palate, pleasant texture, savoury notes rock through. Christmas holly, cherries, some iron like tannins, back palate of subtle spicy tannins, with very fine detailed grip. When I swish it around my mouth, there is so much detail. Herbal edge over cherry fruit. Dark boysenberries, crunchy red apple and violets. The texture is so smooth and silky. Dreamy in fact. Delicate spice, plums, cherries, cocoa, nice lingering acidity. Tannins very fine and gentle. Floral too. But clean and tamed (not wild). So so good. Definitely 1er cru. Ready now with one hour in decanter. What a sensational wine.
