Cabernet Franc grown on a beautiful organic plot in Faveraye-Mâchelles. Semi-carbonic maceration and ferment completed in tank.
Nose of plums, cherries, herbs and tea - definitely smells like Cab Franc - has a slight Bordeaux note about it now that it has some age. A tiny bit of spritz from the semi-carbonic maceration is apparent, but quickly dissipates in the glass - if anything it adds a nice lift and gives an inviting tingle on the tongue. Sweet fruit, a touch of spice, and nice schisty tension on the palate. A slight herbaceousness too, but only just. The tannins are super fine, but reasonably grippy. This is a medium light red wine that is good value for the price. Delicious and easy going, but still has enough detail to make it quite interesting, and I really enjoy the level of tension. I usually drink it chilled, but am writing this tasting note with it at about 15 degrees and it is quite pleasant!
