Mainly Cabernet Franc with 6 other varieties - all organic. De-stemmed by hand. Fermented separately, then 30 months élevage in old demi-muid.
Boysenberries, currants, liquorice, and a savoury edge. Faint floral undertones. A slightly more youthful representation here than the 2011. The perfume really blossoms with air. On the palate - darker fruits, but not rich – quite linear and very mineral. Very supple, a bit more mid palate than 11, and very fine tannins again to finish. Supple and elegant in the mouth. The aromas expand and drift – shy yet firm in their approach. The complexity of the nose is really something. Also weightless, slippery and seductive in the mouth. The savoury notes are in the mid, and fall away as tiny florals and berries appear at the sides and back. Delicate fruits, and perfectly integrated harmony. Very unique. Wait a few hours and be dumfounded by the aromas!
