2015 Surin (Magnum)
Sauvignon Blanc. Surin is the local name given to this grape variety in the Loire-et-Cher. From 20-45 year-old vines. Élevage for one year in old barrels.
Loire freshness, sunshine, pineapples and tussock. Yellow apples, honeysuckle, white flowers, cream, and lemons. So sweet and harmonious on the nose. Very bright, not oxy. Mineral underneath it all, quite complex. Beautiful energetic and frosty texture - this wine is really alive! Slightly viscous texture, sweet fruit, fresh and vibrant. Lemon and barley later on, as well as some pretty decent tension. What an incredible expression of this grape!
