2015 Terres Bleues - Arbois AOP
100% Savagnin from young vines in the ‘Sur la Régole’ vineyard. Pressed as whole bunches in a pneumatic press. Fermentation kicks off for 3 days in stainless steel, before the wine is transferred to an old 2800L barrel from Alsace, built in 1968. The wine is aged on lees for 18 months, and topped up weekly. No racking and no stirring occurs during this time.
Straight away you smell that blue marnes. Minerality intertwined with yellow stone fruits, honey and white flowers. Glorious to drink, so effortless as it lacquers the crevices of your mouth. Textured, but not thick, just perfect. The way this wine feels in your mouth is incredible, so delicious. Lightly honeyed with beautiful acidity that draws out the long finish. This is a very satisfying and comforting wine to drink. 5 days later seriously still cranking. So damn good!
