2016 VDF 'Roche Blanche'
The name pays hommage to the famous Clos Roche Blanche, the name of the former domaine. 100% Organic Sauvignon Blanc. Direct press, then left to ferment in stainless steel tank on the lees. Aged in tank and then bottled end of July 2017. Zero SO2.
Slightly reductive nose that blows off with air. Aromas of white flowers, lemons and honeysuckle. Hints of wild herbs in the spring breeze, and a subtle touch of lemongrass. Some umami-like notes. Ample texture, soft and gentle in the mouth. The acidity is uplifting, providing juicy lemon and barley notes intertwined with an underlying minerality from the silex found in the soil. The wine is smooth and easy to drink, relaxing and comforting. Full mid-palate, and the acidity helps the wine drift off in a harmonious direction, the minerality once again showing itself on the finish.
