100% Savagnin from the Petit Curoulet and la Chenaillotte parcels. The vines are 15-40 years old, and grown on blue marl. Aged in old 2,800L foudre for 18 months. Topped up weekly.
Lime, toast and minerals. Delicately floral. To taste, beautiful flavours. Lime, apple, lemon, honey, salts. Very long and juicy. The acidity is medium plus, not intense – but very long and carries the wine elegantly. Mineral detail and flecks of white pepper on the finish. With air, this becomes more floral and pretty. And then you really feel the impact of the blue marl. Medium texture, punchy flavours, and a long finish. A wine that demands a meal or snacks. Great with seafood, white meats or salads.
