2018 AOP Bourgogne blanc
Chardonnay also from Savigny-les-Beaune. These vines are 25 years old, grown on chalk and clay. One year in old barrels, then left to settle in tank prior to bottling.
Slight reduction on opening but blows off quite quickly. Very mineral, limestone notes, reduced and clean. So much flavour and freshness to taste. A real sunshine wine. Very free and expressive. Flavours linger. Yellow apples, lemons, honey, peaches, nectarines and white flowers. Quality fruit at the front with mineral back palate. Lovely texture, and the acidity is medium plus, lifting it even further. A little bit of almond and nougat spice coming through as it opens up. Such a well-made and balanced wine.
