Purchased grapes from an organic vineyard in the village of Comblanchien, on the middle part of the hillside with marble slabs. The vines are almost 40 years old, and grow predominantly on clay and limestone. Vinification in stainless steel vats - 100% whole bunch for 15 days. Aged in old barrels for one year. Zero SO2 at any stage.
Deeper red, dark rose petal colour. Darker than Albin. Deep nose, although you feel the lightness and perfume underneath – like it’s waiting to pop up and say hi. This is more exotic, with black cherries and exotic spice. It is deeper and more complex. Highly perfumed and you feel the wine opening up and aromas building quickly. More exotic spice coming through now. Very slippery and super smooth on the palate. Dark cherry fruit, some blackberry and blueberry. Sandy tannins, spice and medium acidity. It is long and silky in the mouth. Dry extract that is gentle and perfectly managed. The flavour is so good. Almost stony on the finish. Wild flowers and blueberry skin. Violets linger. An elegant and dreamy wine that is extremely satisfying.
