2019 VDF 'ça faye douze' (Magnum)

This was so good, I tried to order more - the 750mls were sold out, so I could only get a few magnums - you know what to do! Wow, what a colour… and then wow, what a nose. Bursting at the seams. Huge blackcurrant vibrancy. So aromatic and clean. Man, that’s a smasher. Blackcurrants, roses and dark plums - but lifted so that it’s not rich in any way. Has a mineral vein running through it. And then a very subtle savoury undertone. Amazing. In previous years this has been just ok - but this! Big energy and very flavourful. It's more of a fun wine than a serious Cab Franc. And at 12% with a slight chill... boom!
