2019 VDF 'Coup de Grisou'

Clear colour with light yellow and green tinges. Clean nose with no reduction. Smells like green melon, with schist in the background. There is some green apple, as well as ozone notes. Quite a summery vibe. To taste it is clean, slightly textural, and displays sweet fruit flavours. Very easy to drink. Rockmelon, white nectarine flesh, some apple, and then a hint of summer meadows in the breeze. Very summery. Nice tension, medium acidity, touch of flint and minerality on the back palate too. Dash of white pepper on finish. Very approachable. The wine is dry, but the fruit sweetness is there. Has a summer melon vibe, but it’s not tropical - very restrained. A very unique wine, I've never tasted Grolleau Gris like this before. Very mouthwatering and fresh. Would be perfect with salads, seafood and light dishes. Or just on a balmy evening by itself.
