2019 VDF 'Prend'ler' (Magnum)
Jacquère from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. The plot is called Tomacette, and is made up of clay and limestone. The grapes are crushed and then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, with 9 months of ageing in fiberglass vats. Zero SO2. PREND'LER to say "take the air" in children's handwriting.
Takes 10 minutes to open up. Light clear yellow with green tinges. Clean nose, fresh lime zest and rocks. Smells like ice and snow, alpine fresh. Very faint hint of spring herbs. Zippy, fresh and clean on the palate. Tastes as the nose suggests. Pure crisp apple fruit with zesty edges. Medium plus acidity. Long and linear, but with enough texture to keep it from being sharp. It is a very pure wine, extremely well put together. For salads, fish and pasta dishes. Opens up and tastes absolutely amazing after an hour. 10.2% alc.
