Gamay from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. The plot is called Tomacette, and is made up of clay and limestone soils. Six weeks maceration, then pressed in a vertical ratchet press. Aged in tank for nine months. Not fined or filtered, and no added SO2. 'Comme Ça' (Like that) to continue the puns with 'ça' (that) for the wines made from Gamay. Reminiscent of Tout Ça (All that) in 2018 and 2019.
A little hint of gas in the bottle which brings vivacity and freshness. Dark cherries, blackberries, dark plums, chocolate and fresh boot leather. Smells awesome. Small, small bubbles on impact, dissolved CO2. But wow… big energy. Darker fruit, but huge vibrancy. Lots of depth here, but so tasty. The mid palate weight is lifted super high. Nice blackberry fruit with a touch of blueberry that lingers. Big energy. Really, really good!
