Mondeuse (negocé) from Savoie. Clay-limestone terroir. Three weeks whole bunch maceration, then pressed in a vertical ratchet press. Aged in old barrels for nine months. Not fined or filtered, and no added SO2. Named 'La Grosse Epaulé' (The Big Shoulder), after the kind man who came to help her with the press – he was strong with big shoulders! Only 12 bottles in all of Australia...
Amazing perfume. Wild flowers and wild boysenberries. Heavenly. Silky texture, almost weightless in the mouth. Very lifted feeling and flavour – super tasty. Light wild berries – boysenberries and blueberries – creamy and dreamy. Very fine resolved tannins. Slippery and elegant. Yum!
