Collaboration for the label with photographer, Johann Fournier. "He is describing the vine in its primal sense: a creeper. Climbing plant, debauched without scruple nor morality and belonging to the 'VOYOU' (thug) world. This cuvée allows us to try always something new with the Syrah, and to go deeper through the oxidative way of making wine." 100% Syrah. 12 days semi-carbonic maceration, with fermentation in half full old oak barrels. The wine was never topped up - aged under flor. No filtration or fining. 10mg/L SO2 before bottling.
Lighter red colour like rose petals. Smells like red delicious apple skin and forest florals. To taste it is crunchy with nice apple acidity. The acidity is relatively high for a red like this, and really lifts the wine. Great mineral tension on the finish. Powerful delivery with lots of depth and complexity. Plenty of crunch and drive. Still has sweet fruit but the acidity is higher, resulting in a brighter, more elevated style. Tart finish with lingering texture. The perfume is pretty amazing. Raspberry/strawberry blend of liqueur. Great to drink now or age as well. Serve chilled.
