Extremely rare and collectable. Caroline produced only a handful of magnums, and we were lucky to receive some in Australia. These ones are cream of the crop, from her best vintage yet, 2019. You will not get another chance to purchase such an awesome set of wines, let alone in magnum.
2019 Jaja
Jacquère from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. The plot is called Aux Cries, and is made up of clay-limestone. The grapes are crushed then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, followed by 9 months of ageing in fiberglass vats. Zero SO2. JAJA for the expression to drink a shot of JAJA (drink a glass of wine in Beaujolais, no red wine for you, and JAJA also as slang for Jacquère).
2019 Le Bon Blanc
Chasselas from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. Clay-limestone terroir. Crushed then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, then aged for 9 months in fiber glass vats. Zero SO2. BON BLANC is another name/term for Chasselas.
2019 Tout Ça
Gamay from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. The plot is called Tomacette and is made up of clay and limestone. 6 weeks of maceration then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, with 9 months of ageing in old barrels. Zero SO2. TOUT ÇA or ALL THAT to continue the puns with THAT for the vintages in Gamay (reminiscent of ALL THAT 2018).
Jaja Pale yellow colour, very transparent and clear. Luminous. Icy nose, flowing with a range of refined citrus notes. Lime over rocks and hints of elderflower. To taste it is very clean and precise. Gentle and lean in delivery. Super smooth and frosty. Very elegant and pure. Tastes of lime, crisp apples and elderflower over stones. Very pristine. 10.2% alc. * Le Bon Blanc Light clear colour. Cool lemon and lime over rocks, fresh river stream on the nose. Apples. Cool fresh limestone. Very pure and summery. Slightly floral too. Fresh in the mouth, with mild texture. Very easy going. Acidity is on the lower side. Flavours of lemon, lime and rocks. Glacial feeling. Soft and pure and very refreshing. Very different in style, perfect for warmer weather. 10% alc. * Tout Ça Deeper colour, turbid, with rose petal tones. Smells of ozone and rocks. Wild fruit at the edges. Chocolate, spice, and quite exotic. Again those roses – the detail is deep but lifted, and there is so much going on. Big blueberry vibe. This has such amazing texture, flavour for days. Medium plus acidity, and laced with all sorts of berries. Sweet fruit, layer upon layer, and total pleasure zone. Drink chilled, but not too cold for this one. 12% alc.
