2020 AOP Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune rouge
Pinot Noir from their family vineyards in Savigny-Lès-Beaune, blended with grapes sourced from Auxey-Duresses and Couchois. 10 days maceration, then aged for 6 months in old barrels. Zero SO2.
Again, a very expressive wine. Dark berries and undergrowth on the nose. Red delicious apple and dark cherry. A bit of spice and a savoury element in the background. Exotic perfume starting to come through, and will only increase with bottle age. On the palate it is fresh and crunchy with lifted acidity. Boysenberry and blueberry fruit. Good mid palate weight and slight savouriness to add detail. Very fine tannin on the finish. Young but fresh and delicious. Serve slightly chilled.
