2021 VDF ‘Pet Nat’

Domaine Saint-Cyr

Regular price $36 750ml Sale

This is a rosé pét-nat made from Gamay. The vines are 20-40 years old, grown on clay and limestone soils. These Beaujolais grapes come from winemaker Raph Saint-Cyr's brother in law. Direct press, then ferment begins in tank. Bottled and left on the lees for just over 4 months, before being disgorged. Zero added SO2. Certified organic.

Very light peach colour. Wild white strawberries, mountain forest air, herbal tea. Tart unripe strawberries and unripe peach acid line. Crisp, straight, fresh. Much lighter in body and flavour than the 2020 and less sugar too - this is dry. Refreshing mix of red fruits with a faint herbaceous twist on the finish to give it interest.
