6 years ago, this small Carignan Blanc vineyard was planted on non-deep, clayey and extremely calcareous soil. This terrain was selected to slowdown the vigour of the variety. The aim was to achieve less production and more concentrated grapes - quality over quantity. 50% de-stemmed by hand, 50% whole bunch. Fermented and macerated in stainless steel for 3 weeks. After fermentation and removal of the lees, the wine then stayed on 30% of the skins for another 75 days. Afterwards, the wine was bled into 160L amphorae for another 5 months. Not fined or filtered. Zero added SO2. 12% alc.

Striking light amber colour. It shines in the glass. Smells of saffron, white chocolate dust, cassia-bark and oriental spices. Very unique nose. And then the palate is quite different to what the nose suggests. Peach and apricot tart, with hints of citrus spray and salt. Juicy and linear. Long and slightly grippy, with super fine dusty tannins and a pleasant bitterness. A gastronomic wine that you can't stop smelling or tasting because there's nothing else quite like it!
