Based in Chassey-le-Camp (between the Maranges Valley and Bouzeron), these vineyards have 45 year old vines, and are made up of clay and limestone soils with plenty of sand. 60% was macerated for 15 days, and the remainder directly pressed. Aged in stainless steel for 10 months. Not fined or filtered.
Very light maceration - the colour is yellow rather than orange. Very subtle on the nose initially, with hints of jasmine, chamomile, salinity and apricot kernels. The palate is light with restrained notes of apricot and apple, chalky tension and a subtle pleasant bitterness on the finish. Very elegant, dainty and direct. Nothing overt or flamboyant, this is all about restraint.
