From a 1ha lieu-dit called ‘En Flandre’. Here the vines are 15 years old, and the soil has a very high limestone content. Direct press, and then fermented and aged in 20hl foudre. Aged for 18 months in foudre, topped up regularly. Not fined or filtered. 12.5%
Beautiful noble reduction, with orchard fruits shining through. Mineral undertones. A golden colour, almost golden in smell somehow too. Brings back memories of 2009 Overnoy Chardonnay. Golden elixir with honey and tea. The palate is the same, with apples, honey, croissants, butter, stones and almond meal. Length for days and beautiful acidity too. Superb expression of Chardonnay!
