From two lieux-dits: La Touraize and Petit Curoulet, which face north east and north west. Here the soils are grey marl. The grapes are carefully de-stemmed by hand, and then go into stainless steel as whole berries. Here, they add CO2, and leave for 10 days, wetting the cap every 2-3 days without punching down. The wine is pressed and the pressed and free run wine is combined and moved to tuns. Aged in tuns for 7 months. Not fined or filtered. 11.5%
Stunning light colour! Sweet baking spice and macerated strawberries. Hints of bacon fat. Fragrant roses. Blood orange. Almost has nose of a fine Barolo. Very refined compared to previous years. Clean, no funk or reduction. The perfume is highly expressive. Light on the palate, but with good mid palate weight. Cherry, strawberry, red apple fruit. Slightly creamy. The fruit has aged well and everything is extremely well balanced. Their best Ploussard to date!
