2019 VDF 'Le Bon Blanc'
Chasselas from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. Clay-limestone terroir. Crushed then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, then aged for 9 months in fiber glass vats. Zero SO2. BON BLANC is another name/term for Chasselas.
Fuzzy quince skin and soapy perfume. So original. Yellow apples, subtle notes. Yellow plums. To taste it is fresh, clean and lightly textural. Mix of yellow apple and unripe pineapple. Soft in the mouth, and easy to drink. Low acidity. A bjt of lime but not intense. Same mountain freshness, great picnic wine. Less thinking, more drinking. Slight limestone tension to pull it in, acidity not necessary. Same river over rocks purity as some of the others. Mellow lemon but more yellow apple. Nothing tart or sour, just smooth sailing.
