2019 VDF 'Le Bon Blanc' (Magnum)
Chasselas from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. Clay-limestone terroir. Crushed then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, then aged for 9 months in fiber glass vats. Zero SO2. BON BLANC is another name/term for Chasselas.
Light clear colour. Cool lemon and lime over rocks, fresh river stream on the nose. Apples. Cool fresh limestone. Very pure and summery. Slightly floral too. Fresh in the mouth, with mild texture. Very easy going. Acidity is on the lower side. Flavours of lemon, lime and rocks. Glacial feeling. Soft and pure and very refreshing. Very different in style, perfect for warmer weather.
