2020 VDF 'La Chausée Rouge'
40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Grolleau. Carbonic maceration for 6-8 days, then aged in tank for 7 months. 30mg SO2.
Light to medium in colour. Rose red with purple tinge. Lifted aromatics are the first thing you notice. Very clean and fragrant, with just enough carbo to create a very inviting expression. Red fruits, berries, violets and little underlying savoury notes of bay and juniper. Very pleasing to smell. Clean in the mouth, medium in weight. Beautiful flavours of plums, berries, cherries and a touch of liquorice. Fresh and juicy, with decent mid palate. Purple berries, a little cassis, and great length. Medium acidity. Very easy going and the perfect summer red. Serve chilled.
