Trousseau from the famous lieu-dit, Les Corvées. Here the vines are between 20-45 years old, and grow on gravel and marl. The grapes are carefully de-stemmed by hand, and then go into stainless steel as whole berries. Here, they add CO2, and leave for two weeks, wetting the cap every 2-3 days without punching down. Aged in a mix of demi-muid and terracotta amphora for 12 months. Not fined or filtered. Minimal SO2 added before bottling. 12% alc.
Very light this year. Pretty perfume with roses, red berries, a hint of tamarind and fresh tobacco pouch. Some cherry and chocolate in the mix too. To taste it is fine, with crunchy red fruits and red berries. Silky and delicate, with fine grip and quite persistent tannins. Elegant, chalky, clean and delicious with the perfect balance of sweet and fruit and light touch savoury/sappiness. Has a linear but flavourful profile. I really dig this vintage, lighter touch. Chill a bit, but not too much.
