Gamay, sourced from Juliénas, reclassified as Coteaux Bourguignons. 10 days maceration, then aged in old barrels for 6 months. No added sulfites. This is a restock of the 2019 as the 2020 wasn't ready at the time of purchase. An extra year in bottle has done wonders!
Red purple colour. Super expressive nose, which is instantly pleasing. Boysenberry, blackberry and bramble. Red cherry freshness. Black roses. A little bit of exotic spice. This has a lot of fruit. Some savoury tinges in the background, but only just. Supple, juicy, nice delivery. Very easy, young and fresh. Fine tannins, medium acidity. Much lighter than previous years, but still has heaps of flavour. Bright, juicy, linear, and finishes with a bit of tension. Nice drying tannins that are almost non-existent, but add to the structure. Juicy sweet fruit, tart acidity - a juicy well-made Gamay with lots of intricate detail. Serve chilled.
