Chardonnay from a 1ha lieu-dit called ‘En Flandre’. Here the vines are 16 years old, and the soil has a very high limestone content. Direct press, and then fermented and aged in 20hl foudre. Aged for 18 months in foudre, topped up regularly. Not fined or filtered. Minimal SO2 before bottling. 12.5% alc.
Beautiful soft reduction. This has a more charming, softer nose than Les Voisines. Wet stones, baguette, lime and salt. Becomes more mineral with air. Super fresh, light palate with apples and limes. Medium in weight and bright. Juicy rather than buttery - texture does build as it warms in the glass. Beautiful tension and almost crunch. Super good. Amazing array of flavours – Peach, almond, citrus and stone fruit intertwine and the wine has exceptional length. Superb.
