2015 AOC Alsace 'Fleurs'
80% Pinot Gris, 20% Riesling - both certified biodynamic. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 15 months. Zero SO2.
Golden colour. Gently expressive on the nose – white flowers, papaya and mango. You get that pristine limestone freshness though. Beautiful texture, but still frosty. Like refined canned mango juice. Tropical fruit salad styles, but not in your face - just the right amount. Nice phenolics, and a bit of tension and white pepper on the finish, perhaps a subtle bitter note too. A textural wine to have with food. Again, very clean like all his wines. Like an apricot tart – some almond notes too. Probably good with spicy Asian food, due to the texture and slight ever-so slight sweetness on the palate.
