Pinot Noir from Échevronne in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, grown on clay and limestone soils. About 360M above sea level. Direct press, fermented in tank. Aged in used barrels for 5 months before being racked to tank to settle. Not fined or filtered. 10ppm SO2 before bottling. 12% alc.
Vibrant electric pink. Looks a little like an Italian Rosato. Notes of white cherries and raspberries. Beautiful clear fruit with an underlying stoniness. Strawberry ice cream slides in. Good depth. Lots of flavour here – lingers. Raspberry and stoney. Smooth and moreish with no harsh edges. Great balance between sweet fruit and gently tart acidity. It's light and easy to drink, but has good material. Stoney tension on the finish with a little grip. Very fresh and perky.
