Corton is the only red Grand Cru in the Côte de Beaune. Pinot Noir from 'Les Chaumes' lieu-dit, which faces south. The vines are 15 years old on average, and grow on clay limestone soils. 100% de-stemmed, and macerated for 12 days. Aged in one year old barrels for 11 months.

Hugely open and expressive nose, wow! Another whole level entirely here. Blueberry, blackberry, intense red cherry, exotic spices and incense aromas – so much detail, this is really something! The palate is rich with berry flavour and dark mineral notes, framed by quality, well integrated oak. The palate is not as expressive initially, but with air it really comes to life - so please give this a good decant before drinking. Luxurious with ample extraction, plenty of grip and layers of flavours. Beautiful tart blackberry and cherry acidity provides freshness. Hints of balsamic and soy interplay with plum, blackberry and a multitude of cherries. Tannins are sticky and linger. Incredible length. Drinking well now with a 1-2 hour decant, otherwise hold for 5-10 years.
