From the Les Lurets vineyard, on the Meursault side of Volnay. The vineyard is 8.6ha in total - the majority of which is village level, except for the upper 2ha section which is 1er Cru. There is a higher percentage of clay found at the bottom of the slope where these organically farmed grapes come from, making for a highly perfumed and powerful wine. 100% whole bunch maceration for 15 days, and then aged in used barrels for one year. Not fined or filtered. 20ppm SO2 added before bottling.
This has such a stunning perfume! Blueberries, boysenberries and brown spice. There are violets and salt, with a slight umami edge. Full in the mouth, with cherry and blueberry fruit, fine sandy tannins, and a distinct salty note on the finish. Very long and exceptional balance.
