100% Gamay, from 40-50 year old vines, grown on clay with limestone subsoils. 30% whole bunch, with the rest de-stemmed by hand. 11 days maceration in fibreglass, then transferred to old barrels for 12 months. Not fined or filtered. Zero added SO2.
This is a lively wine with a highly perfumed bouquet. Violets, wild berries, chocolate and little savoury notes - it has it all. In the mouth it is full of flavour and so alive. Beautiful freshness this year thanks to the acidity, which really lifts and carries the wine. There is lots of depth throughout, and the limestone imprint is very apparent. The mid palate is full with an array of flavours, and the wine is linear and ends a refreshing tartness on the finish. There are very fine tannins too, making this such a complete wine. Super vibrant and a really exciting expression of Gamay! 12.6% alc.
