Certified organic. 2018 saw a very good sized harvest at the domaine. With extra grapes they were able to make an additional cuvée - something light and easy, for everyday drinking. The fruit is from 50-60 year old vines. They did a very short carbonic maceration for 4 days, and then aged the wine in concrete tanks. Bottled mid-December, 2018. Resting and developing in bottle ever since! 10mg/L SO2 at bottling.
Delicate light red colour - very translucent with purple tinges. Beautiful perfume of roses, cherries, rocks and a touch of aniseed. Very fresh and supple on palate. Sweet fruit with a darkish core, littered with gentle baking spice and slightly savoury herbaceous notes. Becomes crunchy with time, and opens up with air. Raspberries, boysenberries and purple florals become more apparent. It has a fine mineral line through it, representing the granite. Gentle on the palate, and finishes with beautiful acidity. This is very easy and smashable, and of course is best served with a moderate chill. An excellent wine for a no-fuss weeknight drop. Punches way above it's weight for the price.
