This 2ha plot was purchased by the family in 2017, and in 2018 was in its 2nd year of conversion to organic. Very poor soils here, with white granite, and quite rocky at 30cm of depth. Some vines are 25 years old, others 55 years old. 21 days carbonic maceration, and then 80% was aged in old barrels, 20% in concrete, for 15 months. 10ppm SO2 before bottling.

Wow, the perfume is insanely good!!! Cherries, chocolate, wild blackberries, bramble, violets, christmas holly, a touch of baking spice, and a hint of liquorice. Smells old school and it is very expressive and clean. The palate is full of berries and red delicious apple skins. This is fairly linear, with medium acidity. The acidity is slightly tart, which lifts it from its slight deepness. Black cherries, sandy tannins and medium plus in length. Lots of depth, with a very full mid palate. For 2018 it’s great, as it has power but the freshness is there. For the vintage it’s spot on. Spice and bacon on the nose after time. Acidity is really nice, and through all the power there’s dark red apple skin crunch on the finish. Perfume is even more immense with some air. Fresh on the finish, this gives so much pleasure. Fine tannin, and quite good limestone tension. Becomes very pretty and floral. In a perfect spot right now, and of course this will age beautifully. Ridiculous value. Served chilled.
