60% Gamay purchased from friends in Porte des Pierres Dorées, in the south of Beaujolais. These vineyards are certified biodynamic, and are made up of sandy granite. 20% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay and 10% Aligoté from AMI’s vineyards in Chassey-le-Camp. The Gamay and Aligoté were macerated together. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were vinified and aged separately in old barrels. The separate wines were then racked and blended in tank in June, and bottled in July 2018. This wine has had no SO2 added at any stage.

This is a fun wine but still packs a lot of flavour has has considerable depth, all while being very easy to drink. Lots of violets, dark cherries, and dark florals on the nose. The palate is staining, and has plum and cherry fruit, a little spice, and a certain lift like an incline towards the finish. It’s very easy to drink and very moreish. Sweet fruit and lots of energy. Not in the tingly sense, but more in the fact that it wakes you up and makes you take notice. You instantly feel slightly more awake and basically just feel very good! I like to drink this chilled, but as it warms up you get more heightened aromas, purple mystical florals and chocolate, perhaps black forest gateau styles. All elements completely integrated. So yummy!
