2017 AOP Coteaux Bourguignons Rosé
100% Gamay sourced from Vaux en Beaujolais. Vines are 50 years old, grown on sandy pink granite. Direct press, then fermented in tank, before being aged in old barrels for 4 months. Zero SO2.
Very nice, crystal clear electric colour – not too dark either, just right for a rosé. Clean nose, slightly reductive, but blows off with time. Strawberries and cream on the nose. Very clean and fine on the palate – gentle sweetness of fruit. Everything in check, very easy to drink – nice crispness comes through at end – and overall very smooth. Flavours linger – mainly just strawberries and raspberries. A very high quality rosé – up there with some of the best. Pure, clean, easy and smooth. Perfect for Spring and Summer!
