From a 3ha plot of 55 year old vines grown on granite and gravel. De-stemmed, then cold carbonic maceration for 15 days. 70% went to old barrels, the rest stayed in concrete for 10 months. 10ppm SO2 before bottling.
Milk chocolate, red berries, and subtle spice, with black fruits and dark rock mineral undertones. There are some dark chocolate and roses hidden underneath, bubbling below the surface. Lighter fruits appear with some air, as the acidity displays a nice tartness. Nice red cherry notes coming through later on as the wine opens up, both on nose and palate, including juicy flesh and pip. Super smooth and creamy to drink, big yumminess factor. Nice fine grained tannins on the finish. Day two – wow, the perfume is insane. Strawberry biscuit aromas. Smells incredible. Tastes great too – much softer, but with medium pull, bright notes and balanced light red fruit flavours. Wow, day two… a good future ahead! Served chilled.
