Chardonnay purchased from a grower who's vineyard has been certified organic for over 15 years. The soils here have an extremely high limestone content. Direct press, then aged in old barrels for one year. Not fined or filtered. 20mg/L SO2 at bottling.
Lemon, lime, freshly churned butter and minerals – you instantly know it's Saint-Romain. Quite ripe, but in a good way – lots of flavour and aroma. Rich and luscious with an underlying minerality. Lots of lime on the palate. Apples, peaches and nectarines too. Layers of fruit. So tasty. Lime cordial and mineral vibes. The length is exceptional. One of my favourite AMI cuvées.
