2019 VDF ‘Pet Nat’

Domaine Saint-Cyr

Regular price $50 750ml Sale

This is a Gamay rosé pét-nat. And maybe one of the tastiest, value for money sparklings on the market! The vines are 20-40 years old, grown on clay and limestone. These grapes were purchased from Raph’s brother in law. Direct press, then ferment begins in tank. Bottled and left on the lees for just over 4 months and then disgorged. Zero SO2. ~10gm/L residual sugar.

Electric pink colour, very cool. Heaps of bubbles. Big nose of raspberries and strawberries. Slight saltiness on nose too. Very nice to taste, and extremely moreish. Noses of rose petal and orange skin. Almost a subtle tea like quality, and red delicious apple skins. Very easy to drink and very smashable. Just the right amount of sweetness, restrained and balanced by the perfectly fresh acidity. Attack and front palate is full of strawberry, raspberry and roses. Pure pleasure. Bubbles are very persistent, and the wine is very stable. Absolutely delicious, this is a definite must for any list or shelf!
