From a 0.8ha plot of 60 year old vines, grown on white granite and red schist. This site is quite elevated at 500M. 18 days cold carbonic maceration, then 75% aged in old barrels and 25% in concrete tank for 10 months. 10mg/L SO2 before bottling.
Quite light in colour – rose red, but transparent. Beautiful lifted perfume. Almost smells like Burgundian. Spice, roses, cherries. More spice and floral than fruit, at a nice element of cedar wood. Salt in the background. In the mouth it is light, fresh and layered, with plenty of detail. Tart cherry, spice, lifted acidity. Linear, long, pretty and deep – it has everything.
