2019 VDF 'Les Moyens du Bord'
100% Chenin Blanc, from the first harvest of all of their plots. Half aged in tank, half in old barrels for 6 months. 20mg SO2.
Very clear in the glass, with yellow tinges. Smells like schist, so straight away you know it’s Anjou. Very faint honey notes linger. Elegant and refined on the nose. Very mineral, with notes of lemon, apples, and a minute amount of honey. Acidity is medium-high, and the minerality is quite intense. Juicy, with a mild texture. Very well made, clean, and easy going. The schist is so intense. It's a simple Chenin, but perfectly made. Very pleasant. Everyone will be happy. Love the gentle acidity. then it's all mineral, fresh fruits and delicate honey. Tastes perfect on day two. Great tension.
