From two plots about 100M apart. 30-90 year old vines grown on red sand, clay and quartz. Certified biodynamic. Direct press. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Aged 12 months in Alsatian foudre and a further four months in tank. Not fined or filtered.
A wonderfully expressive wine with classic Batardière precision. Orchard fruit, lime zest and delicate floral notes are framed by subtle reduction and a distinctly stony character. Taut, energetic and immensely satisfying, finishing long, saline and beautifully focused.
